September 6, 2017 culminated the second day seminar for the annual Youth Congress on Information Technology (Y4IT) for its 15th year, organized by the UP System Information Technology Foundation (UP SITF) at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Manila.

The event was particularly specific in giving the trends in Information Technology here in the Philippines along with the globally standardized countries. There are a lot of tech talks being delivered and explained thoroughly, such as when Mr. Philip Gioca of Jobstreet Philippines gave a clear statement on the general state of IT graduates in terms of their paying salaries on different field of expertise, then there’s that talk from Mr. Damian Haas of Oracle Academy, stating that we are actually living in the era of fourth industrial revolution of technology we people just tend to overlook that technology runs the world now. Haas also spoke about the challenges, difficulties, and disadvantages of using these technologies if we are not careful – technology if it has the power to build, it has more potential to destroy what could’ve been beautiful. He also played a very good video which, inspired most of the attendees to take precaution: “Are you using technology?…Or are you being used by it?”. Giving a statement as people now are being enslaved by the frontiers and advents of technology to the fact that they are being misguided and less productive at times.
Other fresh topics were handed to the attendees or participants later that day, and all of them hold a lesson for as they continue to progress in the IT career.
Overall, Y4IT held to its reputation in extending great loads of useful information for ITE, or non-ITE students, professionals, and IT enthusiasts.
